The DST President identified these organizational process difficulties while performing electronic asset recycling consulting for a $145m Mid-Atlantic computer VAR. It was common for corporate clients to have a patchwork of vendor solutions that are often marginal performers. It was also commonplace to see assets containing data lying in plain view within the asset owner facilities, then unsecured at the vendors facility. This is the root of data security breach incidents.

DST went on a global pursuit of products that were economical and easily utilized by IT staff with fundamental skill sets eliminating the characteristically onerous administration and high annual costs surrounding asset management software currently available in the marketplace today.

· DST discovered the software manufacturer and performed a multi-year engagement in order to test and secure rights for the Data Security Destruction® product. This suite of products is auditable, widely compatible on desktops, laptops, simple and complex RAID servers and offers robust, easily customizable reporting
· DST designed the actual hard drive shredder in conjunction with a European shredder manufacturer, and trained VAR personnel who have performed shredding of over 20,000 units with the Data Security Shred® system consisting of desktop/laptop hard drives, server drives, CDs, backup tapes and floppy disks on the prototype shredder unit, which was placed in service in June, 2005. It has been the opinion of various SOX and FACTA consultants whom have observed shredding events that "...the physical shredding by the Data Security Shred® system is authoritative and exceeds..." clearly defined responsibilities relating to electronic data disposal within the Federal Trade Commission FACTA Rule http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/alerts/disposalalrt.htm and requirements that are inferred in the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
· DST has waited four years for proof of concept stage testing to be complete on the Data Security Shield®

In short, the DST products are not new. They are tested, verifiable and ready to be utilized by enterprise organizations and asset management firms with dramatic internal and external resource savings, immeasurable litigation avoidance and SOX compliance through auditable Secure Data Destruction on retired assets.

Data Security Destruction® software products completely, authoritatively and economically address secure data destruction and regulatory compliance reporting issues surrounding the server and computer asset retirement process. The economical stand alone and WAN capable software has been approved and is in use by many governments and large organizations since 1998 in Europe, and exceeds the commonly referred US Department of Defense standard. In addition, the software automatically performs a remote inventory of computing assets including servers with RAID arrays.

The DST-designed hard drive shredders have a proven, high volume, trouble free record in use at e-scrap recycling contractors, a Mid-Atlantic computer VAR, and internal use in data-sensitive and litigious industry end user facilities.

The Data Security Shield conductive coating has properties that solve signal emanation and Electromagnetic Pulse threats from espionage or terrorist activities. This product has shown to be versatile, stable and has exceeded stringent testing by the highest security agencies in the USA.
